I agree with the second version here. And, (just to add to the
confusion), I think there's a third riff I've heard that works off the C
chord in the song. Like this:
riff 3:
G-------------0---2-0--------------
D---------0-2---------2------------
A-3----3-----------------3---3-2-0-
E----------------------------------
Hey they All sound great.. but just to add.. Instead of going to F
at the end of the Riff.. play an FMAJ7... it sounds so sweet.. so..

Hammer out the FMAJ7th after the last note on
the 2nd riff...deaden it a bit with
the side of your hand Neil Style..

PS try using the FMAJ7th through the whole song..
