Interesting note, (well I think so). As some people know, this song
is about Bono raising his kids and the enjoyment and pain that’s been
part of the deal. The title ‘Kite’ came about from one time when Bono
took his kids out on top of a hill and tried to fly a kite with them.
Unfortunately the Kite crashed and his kids responded sarcastically
“Wow, that was great, Dad. Can we go play some videogames now?”

Interesting Note 2. On the recent Elevation Tour, at many shows, and
the show I saw in Birmingham, Bono started Kite off by saying that
originally he thought the song was written by him to his kids. But
he has come to realise as his father was dying, that it was written
by his dad, to him, and now to us.
