Official SOUL ASYLUM Tablature & Sheet Music »

"Somebody to Shove," by Soul Asylum.
>From their 1992 Columbia release Grave Dancers' Union.
Tabbed out by Keith E. Law (law2@husc.harvard.edu).
This is an easy one. The opening riff is:
-----------------------|--15-------14----------|
--17-------14----------|-----12-------12----15-|
-----16-------16----16-|--------12-------12----|
--------14-------14----|-----------------------|
-----------------------|-----------------------|
-----------------------|-----------------------|
Played a few times.
The pattern behind the verses is (Cmaj7-B5) 3 times, + B5:
------------|------------|------------|------------|
------------|------------|------------|------------|
--4---4--4--|--4---4--4--|--4---4--4--|--4---4--4--|
--5---4--4--|--5---4--4--|--5---4--4--|--4---4--4--|
--3---2--2--|--3---2--2--|--3---2--2--|--2---2--2--|
------------|------------|------------|------------|
The chorus is actually two guitars, but the two parts are easily combined.
One plays G-A5-G/B-C, while the other repeats the pattern on the two highest
strings:
------3----|------3----|------3----|------3----|
---------3-|---------3-|---------3-|---------3-|
--0--------|--2--------|--0--------|--0--------|
--0--------|--2--------|--0--------|--2--------|
--2--------|--0--------|--2--------|--3--------|
--3--------|-----------|-----------|-----------|
Behind "Cause I... want somebody to shove...", just play:
C5 B5 A5 C5
I don't know the solo offhand, but it starts out in E-major:
------------|--------------|----12-- etc.
------------|--7^h---------|-12-----
------------|--------9p7---|--------
-----4-5--7-|------------9-|--------
--7---------|--------------|--------
------------|--------------|--------
Just an educated guess.
At the end, repeat the intro riff. End on G (3rd string, 12th fret).
If you find this file and like it, all I ask is that you let me know:
