Here is yet another Elliott Smith song from the Good Will Hunting
soundtrack. I don't know the technical names for the chords (they are
very wierd), but I will put what I call them.
Artist: Elliott Smith
Song: Between The Bars
Transcribed and Submitted: Jon Vidal
Tune a full step down
Verse 1
C(add A) F#9
Drink up baby, stay up all night
C G2
With the things you could do, you won't but you might
C(add A) F#9
The potential you'll be, that you'll naver see
C Em F
The promises you'll only make
Verse 2
Drink up with me now, forget all about
The pressure of days, do what I say
And I'll make you OK, and drive them away
The images stuck in your head
Chorus
F G Am C(2) F G D(bass)
People you've been before that you don't want around anymore
F g Am
They push and shove and won't bid to you well
F Fm
I'll keep them still
Verse 3
Drink up baby, look at the stars
I'll kiss you again between the bars
Where I'm seeing you there, with your hands in the air
Waiting to finally be caught
Verse 4
Drink up one more time, and I'll make you mine
Keep you apart, take me my heart
Separate from the rest, for I like you the best
Keep the things you forgot
Chorus
Chords used:
C(add A): 5XX553 Am: 577555
F#9: 1X3213 C(2): 8(10)(10)988
C: 335553 D(bass): 2XX232
G2: X2X433 Fm: 133111
There's a part in the chorus that uses the low E string. It
goes:
been before that you
------|--------------------|
------|--------------------|
------|--------------------|
------|--------------------|
------|--------------------|
------|--7---8---10----12--|
Like I said, the chords are really screwed up. Also, if anyone
can help me with the lyrics to "No Name #3", I will post it.
