White Tornado
R.E.M.
Dead Letter Office
OK, this is REM's foray into surf music. This is the only REM song
I've ever heard which is NOT already on here, so I'm gonna post what I've
figured out. Apologies to Chris Bray and everyone else who've
probably already figured this out but have yet to post. Q's/comments to
Chad (pimentec@sas.upenn.edu). For clean electric.
Riff 1 x2 | first time

b--10-13-10-13-10-10----------13-10----10^(1/2)-8-8-8-10^(1/2)-8
g-----------------------------------12--------------------------
Riff 3 (?) D Eb D Eb D Eb E ////
repeat x3 w/drum solos in between
The rifs change slightly throughout- here are two of the variations
Riff 1*
e---------------------0----3-3-2-2-0-0----
b--3--1----1--3--1-------3-------------3-1 second time through same as 1
g--------2----------2---------------------
Riff 2- just play e-10-10-10 in place of the e-10-10-10
b-10-10-10
Well that's it, at least as I've figured it. It was all done by ear off
of a 10 year-old tape, so I may be off.
