fuck and run
------------
this version is better than whatever is posted at ross' site or at the
guitar tab archives...

for most of the crds, the 2 high strings aren't played.

verses:

Dsus2 Asus2
i woke up alarmed

F#m G
i didn't know where i was at first, just that

Dsus2 Asus2
i woke up in your arms

F#m G
and almost immedeately i felt sorry...etc

repeat (Dsus2 Asus2 F#m G) until...

G Dsus2 G Dsus2
i want a boyfriend, i want a boyfriend

Dsus2 Asus2
i want all that stupid old shit

G Dsus2 G Dsus2
like letters and sodas. letters and sodas

back to verse

bridge:
Em Asus2
i can feel it in my bones

Em funkycrd, let it ring
i'm gonna spend another year alone

it's fuck and run... (for this part the crds are the same as in
the verses)

crd forms:
Dsus2 Asus2 F#m G Em funkycrd

e-------(0)------(0)----(1)----(3)--------(0)-----2---
B-------(3)------(0)----(1)----(3)--------(0)-----3---
G--------2--------2---- (1)----(4)--------(0)-----0---
D--------0--------2------3------5----------2------0---
A--------0--------0------3------5----------2----------
E------------------------1------3----------0----------

most of the crds are played on just 3 strings. occasionally other notes
are thrown in, so i put the rest of the crd notes in parentheses.

easy, eh? you're well on your way to being cool like liz now!!

Fuck And Run
Liz Phair

This is the way I play "Fuck and Run"; I have no idea how close
it is to Liz's arrangement. For most of the song I only play two
or three strings, typically 3rd and 4th for G and D and 4th and
5th for E and C. On the chorus, I strum the chords normally.

G D
I woke up alarmed
Em C
I didn't know where I was at first
G D
Just that I woke up in your arms
Em C
And almost immediately I felt sorry cause
G D
I didn't think this would happen again
Em C
No matter what I could do or say
G D
Just that I didn't think this would happen again
Em C
With or without my best intentions
G D
And whatever happened to a boyfriend
Em C
The kind of guy who'd try to win you over
G D
And whatever happened to a boyfriend
Em C
The kind of guy who makes love cause he's in it and
G C
I want a boyfriend
G
I want a boyfriend
D
I want all the <something> shit like
C G
Letters and sodas
C G
Letters and sodas

You got up out of bed
You said you had a lot of work to do
But I heard the rest in your head
And almost immediately I felt sorry cause
I didn't think this would happen again
No matter what I could do or say
Just that I didn't think this would happen again
With or without my best intentions and
I want a boyfriend
I want a boyfriend
I want all the <something> shit like
Letters and sodas
Letters and sodas
Em D
I can feel it in my bones
Em C
I'm gonna spend another year alone

CHORUS:
G
It's fuck and run
D
Fuck and run
Em C
Even when I was seventeen
G
Fuck and run
D
Fuck and run
Em C
Even when I was twelve

You almost felt bad
You said that I should call you up
But I knew much better than that
And almost immediately I felt sorry cause

I didn't think this would happen again
No matter what I could do or say
Just that I didn't think this would happen again
With or without my best intentions and
I can feel it in my bones
Em C*
I'm gonna spend my whole life alone

CHORUS

* This C chord is played:

7
5
5
5
x
x
