PAVEMENT - "in the mouth of a desert" Tablature
Official PAVEMENT Tablature & Sheet Music »
here it is...it might be tuned differently, but i think i got it.
the guys in my band get pissed cause i play it all the time now.
also, there are some notes in the intro here that aren't on the album
version, but are on STRAY SLACK and make it sound cooler i think.
In the Mouth of A Desert
from the Matador recording "Slanted & Enchanted"
By our boys, Pavement

Play part A twice....then part B 2 and a half times for the intro before the
distortion kicks in at "can you treat it like an oil well?"
then these chords play...open or barre which ever you choose.
C-----Em----G----Bm
I think Malkmus must be tuned differently, or I just suck at transcribing,
because I can't tell what the hell he plays during "It's what I want.." those
two little chords. dammit
the little solo goes something like this.
E
----------------------------10---------------------------------------------------------------10---12---10---8
B
7---8---7---8---7---8--------7---8---7---8---7---8-------7---8---7---8---7---8------------------------
G
--------------------------------------------------------------7---------------------------------------------------
D
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It does that a couple of times, the they break loose into the solo/jam ending
in a C chord
'like i said before, he might be in a different tuning, but this is the best
i can do for now.
if you post this anywhere, tell people where you got it..i'm proud that i
figured this out by ear..hehehehe
also, if any one else has any suggestions for other transcriptions, Email me
at KEANONL@aol.com and pulp.action@frag.fileshop.com
