The intro; Part 2 in this song for me, is kinda tricky to
play the way Ted does it. He picks the A string with a pick
and the B and high E strings with his middle finger. I found it
easier to use my thumb to pick the A string instead of
a pick. The problem with this is that the verses and chorus
requires strumming with a pick and I end up fumbling for my pick
when I need it to play them. Try to learn it using the pick
method if you can.
All of the notes in the second part of the intro and verses
are played very quickly and each note that
is played is quickly deadend by the next note played. The
only notes that are to ring are 3 notes in the second part of
the intro that I will identify with the letters (ri) after
each note. Also, all of Intro;Part 1 rings.
I'm going to tab the intro, verses, chorus, lead rhythm chords and
end of the song where Fred talks. I've never really tried to learn
the leads but I think they're played in D minor Pentatonic or
mabye D of Ted's world I'm not sure. Help me out if you know it,
I have alot of stupid attacks. Walk soft and shoot hard.

Lyrics & How to play the song:
Riff 1A
Riff 1A
Riff 1B
Riff 1B
Riff 2
There I was back in the wild again
I felt right at home, where I belong
But I had that feeling comin over me again
Just like it happened so many times before
Riff 1B
Riff 2
The spirit of the woods is like an old good friend
It makes me feel good and warm inside
I knew his name and it was good to see him again
cause in the wind he's still alive
Riff 3-(Chorus)
Oh Fred Bear, walk with me, down those trails again
Take me back, back where I belong
Oh Fred Bear, I'm glad to have you at my side my friend
And I'll join you in the big hunt before to long, before to long
Riff 1B
Riff 2
It was kinda dark, another misty dusk
And it came from the tangle from down below
I tried to remember everything he taught me so well
I had to decide which way to go
Riff 3-(Chorus)
Riff 1B
Riff 2
Was I alone or in a hunters dream
The moment of truth was here and now
I felt his touch I felt his guided hand
The buck was mine forevermore
Riff 3
Because of Fred Bear, I'll walk down these trails again
take me back where I belong
Fred Bear I'm glad to have you at my side my friend
And I'll join you in the big hunt before to long, before to long
Riff 1B
Riff 2
We're not alone when we're in the great outdoors
We've got his spirit we've got his soul
He will guide our steps he will guide our arrows home
The restless spirit forever roam
Riff 3-(Chorus)
Riff 4
In the wind he's still alive
In the wind I hear I hear Fred Bear
That is it sorry no solo yet, but I will work on it in the future.
