"Wintertime" by the Steve Miller Band
Submitted by Patrick J. Burke, Lucky7sto@aol.com
This file is all the author's work, and is intended for private use or
study only.
Got comments, questions, etc.? Drop me a line! Also, somebody needs to
do a thorough
transcription of "Since I've Been Lovin' You" By Led Zeppelin.
As far as the song goes, the rhythym guitar is slightly compressed, maybe
a touch of reverb or delay. Chorus would sound good if played live. Any
effect that creates space and airiness will work nicely. Also, vocals
are
doubled in the verses, and occasionally harmonized in two parts, usually
thirds, keeping in mind that this is in A minor. Play the lead on your
neck pickup (or between neck and middle if on single coils) with a very
mellow overdrive - get a good clip, but don't scoop out your e.q. Go for
minimal sustain with a lot of sting at the front end. Happy hunting.
There are multiple fills throughout the song played by twin guitars.
They
are all runs in A minor, with either thirds or fourths separating the two
lines.
They are easy to figure out, have fun!
+ = bend whole step sl = slide h = hammer on
d = release bend one whole step p = pull off
