Mansun -"being a girl (part 1)"
From "Six"
Transcription by Ben Hollis
This file is all my own work
(It wasn`t that hard)
Though not essential, using dropped D
tuning will make this easier
Play it all on the two lowest strings
(six strings - pah)
(even non-guitar players can do this -
try putting stickers on your guitar
to show them which frets to use)
It`s all fifth chords and the bassline
is identical
If you`re using Drop D the chords are
G#5 = 6th fret or 666xxx
E5 = 2nd fret or 222xxx
B5 = 9th fret or 999xxx
C#5 = 11th fret or 111xxx
F#5 = 4th fret or 444xxx
Intro + Verse
G#5 E5 B5 C#5 (a few times)
To do the sound of the guitar 'dropping'
in simply start this pattern with a single beat
of C#5
Chorus
C#5
FEEL LIKE ....
E5 G#5
E5 G#5
C#5 E5 F#5
Yeah, oh, ......
G#5
Keyboard Solo
(I may post a guitar version
of this later, if you have the
"Six" single there is a live
version that is on guitar
and easy-ish to work out,
otherwise its a solo; play
what you like)
Verse + Chorus Again
Verse (variation)
G#5 E5 B5 C#5
G#5 E5
Chorus
Stop
(Warning, if your band plays this
and you have a girl singer, it may
end up sounding like a Shania
Twain song)
