To get into this tuning without using an electronic tuner or whatever,
if you don't already know how, follow this method. this is a weird
tuning but some bands use it a lot (eg; System of a Down, Static X)
so try and get used to it! The way I do it is play a 12th fret harmonic*
on the A string and then play an open G. Then tune the A it down until
it sounds like the G string. Next tune the higher stings down by using
the 5th fret tuning technique (a 5 on a G will give you a C: the next open
note up). As for the bottom C string, tune this as you would for a
dropped D tuning: play a 12th fret harmonic on the E string and then
an open C (now on the D string). Tune the E down until it sounds like
the C. Alternatively use the 5th fret technique but play a 7th fret
instead of 5th.

*If you can't play harmonics or don't know what they are, just play the 12th
fret like you normally would. It's the same kinda thing! :)
