Dark Light showcases Ace's lead style in an unaccompanied solo ala
Heartbreaker (Led Zep). Play close attention to the intro, it contains some
easy half-step single notes, but it has to be played on time to match the
record's feel. Ace's solo begins on the E blues position with a bent note
that is picked and released into a flurry of trills that extend down the
neck into pull offs. Ace comes back the 12th fret E position to play some
interesting blues box position licks and then into a repeating pattern on
the high E string. Listen carefully as I have only hinted at this part
since it is a real feel solo. This song was originally called "DON'T RUN"
before it was reworked for "The Elder". Enjoy!
