This is played with a single 6-string electric guitar with standard
(EADGBe) tuning. I believe this is accurate except for 2 passages at the
end of verses where there are 2 little riffs. Perhaps someone else can
tab
them.
This tablature is my own work, it may be distributed freely.
Guitar Setup:
Use the neck pickups to get a warm a sound as you can. Then put it
through some type of tube overdrive. On a Line6 "Pod" - I used "Tube
Preamp" - then set "Drive" to about 70% and added the compressor.
Playing:
The little riff at the end of Phrase I uses a traditional jazz guitar
playing technique. To play this phrase, use your index and pinky
(or index and ring) fingers to play the octave notes. Use your index
finger to muffle the string in between. For example: to play an octave
of "D" (10th fret - high E and 7th fret G string). Put your index on
the 7th fret (G string) let your index finger lay on top of the B string
and put your ring or pinky on the 10th fret and STRUM the G, B and E
strings.
You should only hear the 2 fretted notes - and the B string should be
muffled out. This is a good technique to learn in general - it's used a
lot
in modern jazz. The rest of it should be self-explanatory.
