EDGAR WINTER GROUP - "free ride" Tablature

Free Ride - Edgar Winter Group
NOTE: the chords are played with a free funk style rhythm.
you really have to listen to the record to get the feel.
The chords in the verse section are intended to compensate
for lack of a bass player when playing acoustically. you
need to carry the rhythm in the verse section with your
picking style. also, the chorus chords should NOT be played
as barr chords. instead, cover the top two strings (B + e)
with your first finger and hit the low E string with your thumb.
(this gives the chord a different "feel" that emphasizes the
individual notes and allows a quick transition to the other chords).
Also, on the A2/F# chord, hit the low F# note with the thumb
(E string). See that the bass note is "doubled" with the octave
on the "D" string? Be sure to try this trick acoustically when
playing songs with a strong bass part (like Flag Pole Sitta' by
Harvey Danger, or Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks). --kidguitar
