My Way Down
by Chris Duarte
from the album "Texas Sugar Strat Magik"

transcribed by Geoff Millewich

I have looked all over for the tab for this song, but I couldn't find it.
So...I decided that I would take a crack at figuring it out myself. I am
certainly not claiming that this is accurate, but it sounds pretty close to
me.

This is tabbed for a guitar tuned to E-flat (tuned down 1/2 step). Also,
keep
in mind that Chris uses very heavy gauge strings--like 12's or 13's. Most
players use 9's or 10's. I use 11's on my Strat, so I sound relatively
close
in tone.

Legend:

p= pull off
h= hammer on
^= bend to note in ()
x= muted string
~= vibrato
T= fret Eb string with thumb
\= slide down

Verses go as follows:

My way down..................
eb------------------------------------------------------11--8-
Bb-8^---------------------------------------------------11--8-
Gb------8^(9)^8-----------------------------------------11--8-
Db-------------------10-----------------8---8---8---10-------

Gb--------------------------------8h10--10--10--8------------
Db-------------------------8--10-------------------10--8--10-
Ab---------------------10------------------------------------
Eb------------------------------------------------------------

Those are just a couple examples of those fills that are thrown in after
every
line of the verse. Most of them have just been taken right from the main
riff. The others are really close and obviously in the same key. Be sure
to
hit a lot of those three note chords to emulate that Texas blues style that
Chris has.

For the next part of the verse:

Every Saturday night...........
eb-----------------------------------------8---8---8----------
Bb-----------------------------------------8---8---8----------
Gb-----------------------------------------8---8---8----------
Db-----------------------------------------7---7---7----------
Ab-----------------------------------------8---8---8----------
Eb-----------------------------------------8---8---8----------
T T T

Just keep strumming the same chord, copying the rhythm.

(solo)

Here are little pieces of the solo, just to give you some idea:

eb--11-----------------8-----8-----8-----x--8-----x----------
Bb--11-----------------8-----8-----8-----x--8-----x----------
Gb--11--8~--10--8--10--8h10--8h10--8h10--8--8h10--8-----------
Db---------------------------------------------------10------
Ab-----------------------------------------------------------
Eb-----------------------------------------------------------

Bb--8-----------8------------------8------------------8------
Gb-----10^(12)-----10^(11)^10------8------8--10^(12)--8------
Db-----------------------------10-----10-----------------8---

Bb------8----------------x-----------------------------------
Gb------8----------------x-----------------------------------
Db--10---------8--10~~---x--8------8--10~~-------------------
Ab---------10------------------10-----------------------------
Eb-----------------------------------------------------------

I have trouble until here in the solo:

let ring
eb--8--8--8--8--8--7--8--x----8----------8--8--8--8--8--7--8
Bb--8--8--8--8--8--7--8--x----8----------8--8--8--8--8--7--8

Eb--8--8--8--8--8--7--8--x----8----------8--8--8--8--8--7--8
T T T T T T T T T T T T T T T

This is the part of the solo where you hear a series of high chords:

eb--10-10--10-10--10-10-9-10-11-10-11-14-15--15--14-15
Bb--10-10--10-10--10-10-9-10-11-10-11-14-15--15--14-15
Gb--10-10--10-10--10-10-9-10-11-10-11-14-15--15--14-15
Db--9--9---9--9---9--9--8--9-10--9-10-13-14--14--13-14
Ab--10-10--10-10--10-10-9-10-11-10-11-14-15--15--14-15
Eb--10-10--10-10--10-10-9-10-11-10-11-14-15--15--14-15

Heavy distortion!!!

eb--8\-----------------8-------8~~~~~---
Bb----------8-8-8-11^-----11------------
Gb--------------------------------------
Db--------------------------------------

Later on in the solo:
