These are the chords from the song "Satellites" written and performed by =
(the) Doves on their 2002 Capitol Records release "The Last Broadcast." =
The song is pretty simple as far as chords go. It's carried mostly by =
its sublime arrangement. =20
A few notes:
-You should tune down a half step, as it makes the G - G/F# - Em change =
during the chorus much easier. The chords as I've written them are =
relative to a guitar tuned to Eb, i.e. on the record they're all a half =
step higher in pitch. =20
-The C major chords sound a little better with a low G in the bass =
(332010), especially during the intro and chorus
-In the final short verse, play G6 in the seventh position (779787). =
Bar the seventh fret with your first finger, fret the B string at the =
8th fret with your second finger, and fret the D string at the 9th fret =
with your third finger. I suppose you could also see this as an Em7 =
with B in the bass, but calling it G6 fits the rest of the song better. =
-Also in the third verse, you may want to play the Em in the seventh =
position. I'm pretty sure Jez Williams's arpeggiated figure towards the =
end revolves around the 7th position Em. =20
