^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Found many "faulty" versions of the classic party
tune "Tequila" on the Web when i went looking...
especially deficient in the bridge of the tune. But I
found one that was very close at OLGA, though in a
different key because it was covered at a later date
by "The Shadows".
But the original version was by "The Champs" in 1958.
They recorded it in the saxophone-friendly key of
F Myxolydian. (Don't groan, folks; it ain't that
hard.)
But get a sax player to do the leads. You're on
rhythm here... closed chord forms on the top 4
strings and swing it.
Chords for the main part of the song:
(note 2 muted bass strings throughout; just play top 4
strings)
The chord shape's the same, it just slides down and
back up 2 frets.
(also, play all as downstrums, but upstrums on the
beats marked with an *)

Listen to the recording to get the rhythm right.
Keep repeating the above pattern until the bridge.
Chords for the bridge:
(one strum only at beginning of each bar; syncopate
some on the F chord if you wish, the recording has a
hard F staccato chord at the end of every bar that it
occurs in... if you're feeling real confident, try
punching in an 8th fret F major barre chord for
effect, like this: x x 10 10 10 8)

Note: the recording doesn't have guitar chording for
the last bit of the bridge (the Gm part), just the
bass, drums & sax, but you can play as above and you
can play a full 8th fret C major barre chord at the
end for punctuation.
Then go back to the F & Eb chord pattern until the
next bridge.
After the last bridge end on the F & Eb chord pattern
again but at the last do a quick F Eb F change,
ending on the F chord.

Have fun, Cluin.
