I'm finally starting to type up the chords for the songs on Jimmy
Buffett's _Songs You Know By Heart_. I'm trying to do this at work,
so it will take a while. Anyway, here's "Cheeseburger in Paradise" :
% = eighth rest
Cheeseburger in Paradise
Intro: Bm A | Bm G | Bm A D |
______ _______ _______
| | | | % | | | | | % | | | | | % | |\ |
/ / / / /. / / / / /. / / / / / / O
G A D
Tried to a-mend my car- nivorous hab-its
Made it nearly seventy days
losin' weight without speed, eatin' sunflower seeds
E A
drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays. But at
G A D G A
night I'd have these won-derful dreams, some kind of sensuous treat.
Bm G D G D
Not zuc-chini, fettu-cini or bul-gar wheat, but a big
G D A D
warm bun and a huge hunk of meat.
Chorus: G A D
Cheese- burger in paradise
Heaven on earth with an on-ion slice
Not too par-ticular, not too precise, I'm just a
G D A D
cheese-burger in para-dise
Additional lyrics:
Heard about the old-time sailor men
They eat the same thing again and again
Warm beer and bread they said could raise the dead
Well, it reminds me of the menu at a Holiday Inn.
But times have changed for sailors these days
When I'm in port I get what I need.
Not just Havanas or bananas or daiquiris
But that American creation on which I feed.
(chorus)
I like mine with lettuce and tomato \
Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes \__ GUITAR
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer / TACET HERE
Well, good God Almighty, which way do I steer for my /
(chorus)
